Practical, Gentle Canine Training & Rehabilitation Techniques Streetwise Dog employs only positive training and rehabilitation techniques. The aim of any training or rehabilitation methods I use is to keep the dog, the owner and the environment as stress-free as possible and to build a positive working relationship. My name is Melissa Stanton and I have been working with dogs in a variety of fields for about 10 years now. I believe it is really important to use gentle non-coercive methods to rehabilitate and train dogs. With patience and a good understanding of what the problem is, I believe we have a good chance of being able to modify or at the very least contain most unwanted behaviours. This is not a guarantee that rehabilitation will work every time for every dog, but that I will do my best to help you with your dog or refer you to someone who may be more qualified to help in your specific case. Of course, prevention is better than cure, and if you want more information about bringing up your puppy, do get in touch with me. Please feel free to browse through my website. If you have any questions or queries, please call or email me. My contact details can be found on the contact me page. You can also find a list of relevant reading material and websites on the resources page. In the summer of 2008 I was awarded a Travelling Fellowship by the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust, to visit the USA to meet and learn from respected and knowledgeable individuals in the field of canine behaviour. To find out more about this fantastic opportunity and how the Fellowship progressed, please visit the Fellowship page. There you will find my day to day diary and photos of the people and places I visited. I've tried to keep it as interesting as possible - enjoy!
